Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.83g, 29mm). Uncertain mint. Struck circa 323-280 BC. Obv.: head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin. Rev.: AΛΕΞΑNΔPΟΥ, Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; lyre in left field, Φ below throne. Unpublished in the standard references; CNG MBS 72, lot 450 (same dies). Minor edge scuff, nice VF.
