Attica, Athens. 99/8 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.37g, 29mm). New Style Coinage. Dositheos, Charias and Nik-(?), magistrates. Obv: Head of Athena Parthenos right, wearing triple crested Attic helmet decorated with Pegasos and floral pattern. Rev.: A – ΘE / ΔΩ – ΣΙ / ΘΕΟΣ / ΧΑΡ / IΑΣ / […]K, owl standing right on amphora, head facing. Controls: Γ on amphora, ΣO below; to right, Tyche standing left, holding sceptre and cornucopia; all within wreath. Cf. Thompson 860. VF.
