Nicephorus II. 963-969. AR Miliaresion (2.86g, 23mm). Constantinople mint. Obv.: +IhSuS XRI – STUS nICA*, cross crosslet on globe above two steps; at center, medallion of four lobes containing facing bust of Nicephorus, with short beard, wearing crown and loros and dividing the inscription n/I-C/F; triple border ornamented with eight equally spaced globules. Rev.: +nICHF\’/En XW AVTO/CRAT\’ EVSEb\’/bASILEVS/RWMAIW\’ in five lines; cross made up of five dots and flanked by dashes above and below; triple border, as on obverse. DOC 6; SB 1781. Graffiti, toned nice VF.
